The Frame of Collaboration: How Photography Enhances Your Coaching

On May 21st, I had the joy of facilitating a session for the Berlin Coaching Community titled “The Frame of Collaboration: How Photography Enhances Your Coaching.” This gathering was particularly special—it marked the second anniversary of BCC, and what better way to celebrate than in a lush garden, surrounded by nature, creativity, and genuine connection?

A heartfelt congratulations to everyone who helped make this community what it is today. To Ana and Janina, thank you for growing such an open-hearted, warm, and inspiring space where coaches and creatives come together to learn and evolve. Your vision is blooming beautifully.

And a big thank you to our gracious host Georgiana, who turned the gathering into a feast for all senses—with colorful food, thoughtful details, and a welcoming energy that made us feel right at home. As birds sang and drums played softly in the background, the atmosphere invited us into presence, playfulness, and deep connection.

We began with a grounding meditation—a moment to gently explore the theme of perception through the metaphor of a camera. You’re welcome to use or adapt these words in your own practice:

... Imagine holding a camera in your hands. This camera represents your perspective—the way you see the world, yourself, and others. Right now, the lens is focused inward. Notice your thoughts, your emotions, your energy in this moment. No need to change anything—just observe, as if you were taking a still photograph of your inner world.

Now, slowly shift the focus outward. Picture the people in this room as if they are part of a shared composition—a group portrait. Each person brings their own light, their own unique presence. Notice how, just like in photography, depth and beauty come from diversity, contrast, and connection...

The session unfolded through vibrant conversations, journaling, story-sharing, and hands-on exploration with our cameras—both literal and symbolic. We reflected on how photography can be a tool in coaching to notice strengths, shift perspectives, and build connection. And we explored the art of collaboration—through images, language, and presence.

This session reminded me how powerful it is when people come together with intention and curiosity. Coaching and photography both offer a lens—a way of seeing. And when those lenses align in a space of trust and creativity, something really beautiful emerges.

To everyone who joined—thank you for bringing your presence, your questions, and your light. It was a joyful celebration of growth, community, and the beauty of seeing each other fully.

Here’s to many more shared frames, meaningful conversations, and collaborative moments ahead.

Let’s keep co-creating what coaching can be, one frame at a time.
